Buddu readies for Pookino Cup on Sunday 4th 2024
Buddu has confirmed its readiness to the Pookino Cup slated on the 4th day of February, 2024 at Bulakati, Lukaya, with all 6 matches in group A - Muteesa (Kalungu) to be played.
Speaking to members of the Ggombolola Cup organizing committee who had gone on a pre-event assessment tour of Buddu, Mr Nsubuga Patrick, the representative of POOKINO was delighted that the tournament will enable the Ssaza football team to fish out players who are rooted in BUDDU and further develop football talents in the County. While thanking the Kabaka for transforming the youth through sports, Mr. Nsubuga further noted how the competitions will cement unity amongst Kabaka's subjects and also strengthen the Kingdom youth structure up to the village level.
Buddu is the largest Saza with a total of 29 sub counties, scheduled into 6 groups namely A - Muteesa (Kalungu); B - Daudi Ccwa (Bukomansimbi); C - Kintu (Lwengo); D - Ssuuna (Kakuuto); E - Kimera (Kyotera) and F - Mwanga (Masaka), from which 16 teams shall be selected to proceed to the round of 16, then quarters, semis and the final game scheduled for 6th April 2024.
