Minister’s visit to Kyaggwe highlights Week three of Ggombolola Cup Competitions

The Ggombolola Cup competitions entered the third week of action with a total of 17 games across 4 counties including Buddu, Buvuma, Bulemeezi and Kyaggwe where 24 goals were scored. 

The highlight of the events was the minister's visit to the county of Kyaggwe, where on top of watching the 1:0 thriller between Mutuba IV Kawuga and Mutuba VII Kawolo, he also visited various youths undertaking economic development projects and also officiated at the swearing in ceremony of new county kingdom youth leaders. On Saturday, Kyaggwe had witnessed action in five games played at different locations throughout the Ssaza.

Buvuma continued its entertaining games for the Islanders on Saturday 10th February with Musale Sejja taking maximum points after their 2:1 win over Ssabagabo Nairambi at the Ssaza grounds. Omondi Paul scored both goals for the winners and scooped the Man of the Match Award while Nairambi’s consolation came from Wadera Collins.

Bulemeezi opened their campaign on Saturday with Mutuba X Semuto winning over Mutuba IV Kawulukusi Makulubita 3:0 at Semuto Church of Uganda in the Kkangaawo Matumpagwa group, at a game officially witnessed by the Deputy Kangawo, Ms. Margret Mutyaba, and went on to play three more games on Sunday.

Action in Buddu was also as entertaining as six games were played in the the Daudi Ccwa (Bukomansimbi) Group in a gala format. Mutuba XI Bigasa and Musaale Butenga qualified to the round of 16 with 5 points each, with Mutuba XXII Kitanda standing a chance to qualify as best looser at 4 points, while Mutuba XVIII Kibinge was bottom of the group with just a point.

Week 4 of the competition will have games in 10 counties of Busiro, Buvuma, Buddu, Kyaggwe, Bulemeezi, Kkooki, Kyaddondo, Ssingo, Buweekula and Mawogola.
